Government Approves PM e-Bus Seva Scheme to Deploy 10,000 Electric Buses in 169 Cities

The Union Cabinet has approved the PM e-Bus Seva scheme, which will deploy 10,000 electric buses in 169 cities across India. The scheme will be implemented on a public-private partnership (PPP) model and will have an estimated cost of Rs. 57,613 crore.

The scheme will focus on deploying electric buses in cities with a population of over 3 lakhs. Priority will be given to cities that do not have organized bus services. The buses will be equipped with modern features such as GPS tracking, CCTV cameras, and panic buttons.
