Changes to Labour Laws: Good or Bad? A Debate

The most hard-hit community in Lockdown imposed during the time of the Coronavirus Crisis is that of migrant workers from Hindi Heartland like U.P, M.P, and other such states. Their migration for work highlights the problem of unemployment in their respective states which is one of the reasons for their stranded situation in the cities they migrated for work.

If the home states of these migrant workers have enough employment opportunities for them then they will not be pushed to migrate from their home states and their condition will improve. While both sides of the argument sound rational in their own ways of addressing several key issues, the effect of these changes during the next coming 3 years will decide the overall future trajectory of labour laws in India.
