WHY SHOULD THE USE OF CANNABIS BE LEGALISED
Cannabis, more popularly known by its name marijuana is a psychoactive drug used for medicinal, recreational or spiritual purposes. The main psychoactive compound in marijuana which gives the feeling of ‘ecstasy’ or ‘euphoria’ is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) though it also contains more than 450 other chemicals.
It also contains cannabidiol (CBD) which has counter effects to THC which means it does not produce a state of high. Marijuana is used mainly either by smoking or vaporizing. Sometimes it is also mixed with food or used as an extract.
In the past decade, there has been a tremendous change in respect to the legalization of this drug. Countries worldwide have realized that various bans on this drug did not work since it is easy to grow and manufacture.
