Quarantine brings an increase in Domestic Violence

Seeing the current situation, the Czech Republic has launched a new app from wherein the delivery staff or postal workers can report the police or the concerned administration about any suspicion of domestic violence. They are being trained and informed about to know about the signs of any such thing. Due to social distancing and quarantine, they are the ones that the victims might get in contact with. This is a great step taken by the Czech administration and should be taken as an example by other countries.

The lockdown does not seem to end any soon, this is bad and horrifying news for everyone. The more it extends, the chances of the abusers killing and physically hurting their partners go higher. This is because the pandemic is destroying the economy and thereby people are losing their jobs and have other personal crises.

Spreading awareness and helping the ones in distress is the only way out as of now. Steps like checking on our neighbors and relatives can be taken on personal levels.
