INTERVIEW WITH GROWING YOU-TUBERS Part-1

In today's world if you don't know what Youtube is then probably you are living under a rock. So basically Youtube is a platform where people show their creative talents by uploading videos out there for everyone to see. From out there, it sounds to be very fun, enthusiastic and easy but it does have another side to it. Everyone out there wonders how the life of a You Tuber is and how much of a task is it to become a You Tuber. So here I present you an article in which I went to talk with 5 different growing Indian You Tubers from 5 different genres to find more knowledge about YouTube. DEETS WORLD- DEETS WORLD is a youtube channel run by Aditya. It's an amazing journey of an Indian vlogger who travels, motovlogs and inspires happiness across the globe. He is a growing YouTuber with about 625 subscribers. 1.Tell us something about you and your channel like when you started it? How this idea came into your mind? What is the reason behind choosing a platform like you-tube where you are open to millions of people? Well, my channel is about vlogging and Moto vlogging. This idea came into my mind after watching the growth of Moto vlogging channels in India. My inspiration drew from A Mumbai based motovlogger called Oggy F. He is currently at 80000 subscribers and I have been following him since around 2000 subscribers. I saw the sudden rise in Moto vlogging and I also have a passion for making and editing videos.My love for editing making videos and blogging was the reason why I started this channel.I tried to show my work of art through YouTube. And people started to watch it and share it with their friends. Which hence helped me improve in this field and art of vlogging. 2. Any inspiration behind it and favourite YouTuber and why? Yes as I said earlier I drew my inspiration from a Mumbai based motovlogger his channel name is Oggy f. He makes videos about road safety and teaches people to ride safely and wear a helmet. So I drew inspiration from him and watching him grow as a YouTuber also gave me the confidence and the motivation that I can also do YouTube videos and I can also do Moto vlogging. My channel is not just about vlogging it's about travelling and going around on a motorcycle. In Deets World you basically see me roaming around on my motorcycle to various places or to various new places which you might know about or you wouldn't know about it earlier. 3. How do you feel after starting a YouTube channel and how much has your life changed? Well, I feel really good and I feel really happy after starting a YouTube channel. I feel that I have done the right thing by starting a YouTube channel. YouTube being a medium where I can share videos with thousands and thousands of people they come and interact with me on my channel and this has made me improve my creative style and also my style of editing videos. So I learnt how to edit videos and then I started making videos and added my own style to it and I saw people would come and comment on my channel and this help me improve my skills a lot and my life has changed a lot because my schedules have changed I have gotten a bit busier now. Hence YouTube in all has bought a good change in my life 4. How do you deal with fans in like some of your videos you went out to meet subscribers so how do you deal with that scenario when someone recognizes you how does it make you feel and also how do you deal with haters or your own friends who make fun of you Ok so recently I met a couple of my subscribers when I crossed 500 subscribers. I randomly went on streets to meet them. My subscribers recognized me and waved hi to me which was very overwhelming. I felt very happy when people recognized me through my bike, flasher helmet and the GoPro set up felt very overwhelming to see that people have started to know me and my audience is increasing. The fanbase is basically helping me to reach that Fame. And when it comes to haters I think that there are only two or three people who criticize you but there are hundreds of people out there who appreciate your effort and your work and that boosts up my motivation. So I don't really pay a lot of attention to my haters. And about my friends, they don't make fun of me they just tell me my bad points Which hence helps me to improve my content and my work. 5. So your channel Is a vlogging channel why did you prefer this why not some other idea like comedy sketches or vine or something like that? Well, I choose motovlogging as the genre of my channel because I wanted to show people about new things and new places that I interact with and that I meet and come forward with. And when it comes to comedy sketches and other kinds of videos I don't think I'm comfortable doing that because that's not something I am interested in. I am interested in Moto vlogging so I do that. Although I don't want to Limit myself and so when my channel grows more I'll think of moving to other genres as well. 6. Tell us about your first video experience like what was the struggle? Well, my first video was my intro itself I made my first video when I was travelling to college. The struggle is with equipment because as I am a motovlogger I need to keep my camera on the helmet and the camera keeps falling off. So there were a lot of issues that I faced in the initial stages of my YouTube channel. Later I experimented with a lot of things and I've actually got to know that how YouTube works and now here I am standing in front of you with 625 subscribers. Not saying that I am a pro at YouTube or I perfectly know how this thing called YouTube works. But I know a bit and I'm still learning and I'll keep on learning my entire life until I am on YouTube because every day is a new beginning. 7. Define your channel in two words I think it would be either something between spreading happiness or Indian motovlogging 8.Being a part of social media how do you think youth gets affected by it? Well, people use social media to the extent of sharing things as if their photos and status and their check inns. But they don't really share things that are really valuable and important to the audience. Social media should be used as a platform to allow people to share good things and to gather people for social activities. But these days social media is actually Degrading because of viral means which don't think about people's emotions. Hence people are not taking social media as seriously as they should because trust me it has a huge impact on the Mass out there so it should be taken seriously. 9.Do you think youth gets overindulged in social media and tends to forget their public and personal life? Well yes, I agree with the fact that sometimes youth gets overindulged in social media and gets overly influenced by it and tends to forget their public and personal life. They sometimes try to mix their personal life with their social life through the platforms like Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. And I think it's very important to draw a line between your social life and your personal life because there are many dangers out there which you are not much known about. So if you mix your personal life too much with the social life then it could end up harming you. 10.How YouTube is a platform for the youth, do you feel that it's sometimes misleading for the youth as they think of it as their passion and forget everything else which ultimately causes their downfall? Yes these days I see a lot of people actually trying to make videos on YouTube due to the reason that they don't have any job or they are not able to do anything else and they consider this as their so-called passion. And they think that YouTube is an easy way to earn money but it is not this is a wrong conception that people have about YouTube it's not easy to earn money on YouTube. If you really want to have a YouTube channel about it then you are well to go but if you just want to have a time pass or just want to earn and you think that you can earn money through it just as a time pass then it's not a right thing to do. So youth should be a bit cautious on Youtube so that they don't tend to forget your personal life and your life goals 11. Being a growing YouTuber what advice would you like to give people out there and how do you see YouTube in India in upcoming years My only advice to the people out there would be that it is a tough ride don't think that it's going to be easy. It's very tough in the initial days just don't lose hope and keep on carrying the good work. Don't think of it as a source of earning money think of it as a source of showing your talent out there in the world. And I think YouTube is a great platform for improving your creative skills and its growing rapidly in India as we see channels like BB ki Vines has 4 million subscribers AIB has 2 million subscribers carryminati has around 2 million subscribers its growing very fast and in the upcoming years it will be a huge platform in the country. 12. How did your parents react to your idea of going on YouTube and where in future do you see yourself with this? Well, my parents saw my first video in which I was Moto vlogging and they told me that this is not going to work and I am actually wasting my time in scared that because of my moto vlogging I would not pay attention to the roads and it could cause an accident. Well now 5 to 6 months have passed since I started my channel and my channel has started growing and it has grown to 623 subscribers and my parents also see it with a different perspective now. They are proud of me because I address social issues on such a big platform. I help people to explore places through my eyes so I feel proud of whatever I am doing now. And coming to my future on YouTube I will keep working. I will keep learning and I will keep improving my creative skills. I would wish that one day I would achieve that golden button or the silver button that YouTube gives and that will be the happiest day of my life. 13. Are you ever nervous about posting videos? Do you feel like you have a certain standard to uphold? Does that hinder or help you as a creator? Well, I'm never nervous about uploading videos on YouTube but I really struggle with thinking of a Creative Concept. YouTube is a place where you create an original Idea and you put forward an original content in front of the mass. So it is sometimes hard to think of a content that is related to the youth and the audience that they could interact and relate to it. Finally editing videos is the hardest part about YouTube because it takes a lot of time to take the camera and go to the streets record and then come home and then art editing and then upload find add a title and a thumbnail etc so it's a lot of work. So I am not nervous about uploading videos but yes shooting a video is struggle and thinking about a new concept to add up to my creative style and my editing style is also a struggle which doesn't hinder my capabilities as a creator but it evolves me as a better creator. 14. So you have a vlogging channel you go on your bike and vlog various events how much of a struggle is it like all of this requires some investment and not everyone is comfortable with a camera how safe is it to talk and drive and how do people react? Well the investment in YouTube is more in the beginning as in Any industry or any business you need to have a camera and buying a camera is a pain these days because they are not actually cheap and to maintain the standards of YouTube in HD quality you need to buy a good camera. With a camera, you also need to buy a tripod you need to actually buy more memory cards and more batteries so attaching your camera to the helmet and you cannot just attach DSLR to the helmet you need to buy an action camera attached to it. Apart from the camera you also need to have a mic and the most important thing is a helmet for your security and safety and no one should ride a motorcycle without a helmet. So it's a lot of struggle with the money in the initial days but the passion that I want to do this keeps me motivated towards doing it. And when it comes to people, people on streets react in a very surprising way as they see the camera to my helmet and they ask Many times that is that a camera is it recording who are you? why are you recording?and where did you get this camera? what is your channel? how much do you earn?.So to conclude I would like to say that it's a lot of struggle to buy the equipment and face the people out there. 15. Finally one video of yours that you are most proud of? My proudest video is my latest video Smile in which I give Subway sandwiches to poor and needy people and I celebrate world sandwich day in an appropriate way. the main motive of the video is to spread happiness through sandwiches and I believe that I have conveyed this message in a very nice manner. And I'm very proud and happy with that video Watch the video here MEGHA YADAV- This is a channel run by a fashion student Megha Yadav. Her channel talks about fashion, beauty, confidence and independence. She currently has around 133 subscribers and her channel is evolving and growing. 1.Tell us something about you and your channel like when you started it? How this idea came into your mind? What is the reason behind choosing a platform like you tube where you are open to millions of people. My name is Megha Yadav a fashion student from Hamstech. I am a part time youtuber and I started my channel in 2016. Before this I had another channel with my friend call Tanmay we were in the same college but we joined different degree colleges so it was difficult for us to interact and come to one place and shoot. So we created our own channels. Now talking about the reason behind choosing a platform like YouTube there is actually no reason at all because initially I knew nothing about YouTube as a teenager I used to watch all these fashion and beauty videos on YouTube and I knew I wanted to be one of them. Now when I really know something about YouTube I think it's a really great platform for anyone out there in the world. 2. Any inspiration behind it and favourite YouTuber and why? I was just into you know music and that stuff. So at that time, I used to watch Bethany Mota videos and I have seen her grow. She is one of the best YouTuber that I've ever seen like until today. I am her Biggest Fan and she is my favourite YouTuber. She started her channel because she was cyberbullied and that kind of inspired me to become one of them and now another YouTuber that I can think of as an inspiration is Sejal Kumar I have seen her growing too from 100 subscribers to 400k subscribers. 3. How do you feel after starting a YouTube channel and how much has your life changed? I think after starting my YouTube channel. I have become independent and become organised in life like actually independent and organised. And I have discovered one thing that my style has also changed now. I think about my comfort level more than following trends. Even if I am wearing something that is in Trend I try to make sure that it is in my comfort zone. 4. How do you deal with fans and how does it make you feel and also how do you deal with haters or your own friends who make fun of you I come across two kinds of comments progressive and hate. So progressive comments are the ones that I really appreciate those people and actually reply to them. I tried to follow like whatever they say if they say that this look might look better on me if I do this or a certain thing add a certain accessory or something else to make the look more better. So I follow these kinds of comments and I even reply to them. Coming to hate I basically delete the comment or I ignore it. I guess I believe hate is never going to affect my life and my work anyways so I just let it be. And about my friends, I don't think I have any friends who make fun of me or who criticize me. My friends are actually proud of me doing this 5. You have a beauty and a fashion channel so why this category why not something like vlogging, sketches etc. So as a child whenever I was asked about my ambition I always responded to such questions by saying that I want to be a fashion designer or a fashion stylist. So I somehow knew deep down inside that I'm interested in fashion and that is something that I am good at. That is the reason why I started a fashion channel but later on, I also started doing Lifestyle videos, beauty videos and I recently did a travel vlog too. And currently, I am shooting a Delhi travel vlog. So I am not trying to Limit my channel to certain criteria and slowly I wish to cover up every topic that I like you know I might start sketching on YouTube too. I Exactly don't know what will I do in future but I want to cover everything that I can do and where my interest lies. 6. Tell us about your first video experience like what was the struggle? As I told you earlier I started my first channel with my friend and we didn't even have a proper camera or a tripod at that time. We just had 1 chair, piles of books and a small camera that she owned so we started off with that and I remember that for just the introduction that was just about not even 30 seconds we look like more than 20 takes. So it was quite difficult to talk to the camera and get comfortable with it 7. Define your channel in two words Ummm to Define my channel in 2 words I would say that it is My world 8.Being a part of social media how do you think youth gets affected by it? I Think Social Media is like the two sides of the same coin it has a good side as well as a bad side and I think both the sides effect equal to the youth. 9.Do you think youth gets overindulged in social media and tends to forget their public and personal life? Yeah, that's true that people get over indulged in social media sometimes there are people you know who limit themselves to social media but there are also people who are overindulged in social media. And sometimes people try and mix up their personal life with there a social life. I know it's their choice and I am no one to question it or ask them why they are doing it. But I personally believe that you should limit yourself a bit from social media and take out time for your own personal life as well. 10.How YouTube is a platform for the youth, do you feel that it's sometimes misleading for the youth as they think of it as their passion and forget everything else which ultimately causes their downfall? It's true that YouTube is a huge platform and a great platform for the youth and coming to the downfall. I personally believe that it is necessary for everyone's life to have a downfall because it makes us and builds us into how we are and how we progress in our life. So I think that we should take a downfall as a lesson to become a better person in life. 11. Being a growing YouTuber what advice would you like to give people out there and how do you see YouTube in India in upcoming year One advises that I would like to give everyone is that follow your dreams your heart and your interest because that is what actually you are. And when you do something that you are interested in then you give you hundred percent towards it. Hence ultimately you will progress in it and even if you fail in it you will get to know your mistakes and you will take it as a lesson and progress in future. About YouTube in India in the upcoming years, I think YouTube is spreading in India as a forest fire. I personally believe that people soon are going to forget TV and indulge in YouTube videos. That is what I personally believe. 12. How did your parents react to your idea of going on YouTube and wherein future do you see yourself with this? I think my parents were quite reluctant at first because they didn't have any idea about YouTube but then I guess after the third video exactly they became really supportive especially my mom for making the YouTube videos. So every month I used to sit down and write my content and she actually used to come and sit beside me and suggest me nice ideas for my videos. So She is very supportive of every video. And whenever someone calls like my cousins or relatives they tell my mum that the video that I uploaded was really good she gets happier than myself. So my mother feels very proud of the fact that my daughter is doing something that none of my family members has done. So the things have pretty much changed now from my first video. And where do I see myself in the future? Actually, don't know because as I told that I am a fashion student so it's quite difficult to manage YouTube and my studies both at the same time but yeah there is one thing for sure that I want to do YouTube till I am alive as a part-time job or as my full-time job. I really don't know what will happen in the future. One thing is for sure that one side I'll have my fashion designing course and the other side I'll have YouTube. Both of these are gonna Run parallel and together. 13. Are you ever nervous about posting videos? Do you feel like you have a certain standard to uphold? Does that hinder or help you as a creator? I am never nervous about posting my videos. I believe that everybody has a certain standard in which they you know kind of upload their videos. I have personally shot a lot of videos and didn't uploaded them because they didn't pass these four reasons that I have maintained a certain criteria about. First is clarity. Second is wrong focus. Third will be editing wrong editing. Fourth one will be if the shot or the clip is not good. So these 4 things are my standard that I try to uphold in my video and if that is not there then I'll not upload that particular video. So this basically helps me as a creator to grow and learn. 14. Being a fashion youtuber, you have to do shots in road and in public and you have to change clothes all the time. So how do you manage this and how is the struggle? It is really hard to manage people looking at you asking you for pictures and then changing clothes and applying makeup in public. So these are the things that I Surely face whenever I shoot in public. Firstly at most of the places there is no public toilet there so I have to go back to my place change clothes and come back to the same location and in public area obviously there are a lot of people and I cannot stop people from staring which quite gets uncomfortable sometimes. Even if I had a friend with me to help me out in the shooting process people still stare and you cannot help it if you are there they will see and its not your fault. And one more thing that people actually come and ask you for pictures and I don't know why people do that. I actually feel sometimes that they do judge me a lot of times. It's very difficult to manage everything all together but I have to do it and I will keep doing it because this is something that I like doing and YouTube is my passion and I will never stop. 15. Your all-time favourite beauty product that you love the most? I think my all-time favourite beauty product will be a lipstick because you can wear a lipstick anytime like even if you are not wearing enough makeup or a single product on your face apply some lipstick and you are good to go. 16. Finally one video of yours that you are most proud of? I think that would be the Indo Western edit because that was something out of my comfort zone and out of my style. I'm not saying the clothes were not comfortable while I wore it but they were out of my style. I am someone who wears very comfortable and simple clothes. But that video contained a lot of mix match of clothes and a lot of jewelry going on and heels and shoes and I switched up and changed for every look. So I think that was a video which was beyond my comfort level. Watch the video here NAHI SAMJHE- NAHI SAMJHE is a growing youtube channel that believes in delivering something good to the audience. They believe in giving diversified content to the viewer and leaving the viewer amazed in the end by unpredictable ending and that's what NAHI SAMJHE is. The channel currently has around 614 subscribers and it is on its way to spread its talent all over the youtube. A member from the team Mr. Mohammad Azeem Khan addressed my questions. 1.Tell us something about you and your channel like when you started it? How this idea came into your mind? What is the reason behind choosing a platform like youtube where you are open to millions of people? So basically we are a team of people not professional YouTubers. We have our own personal activities which are not at all related to youtube. so I have seen that one of my friend has a very good humor. I have seen that another friend of mine has a passion for photography. So they are not professional but they have this asset. So we thought that what if we can do something of our own like we had seen vines and sketches on youtube. Hence we thought giving our creativity and assets a chance and hence we came up with NAHI SAMJHE. It was basically a productive way of displaying our hobby. And coming to the reason behind choosing youtube, if you see in the current scenario activities are majorly internet based. That is that people nowadays are very much indulged in their phones and laptops. So youtube is basically the best platform to portray your talent. 2. Any inspiration behind it and favorite youtuber and why? Inspiration was not when we started it as we started it as a part of hobby. We had Amit Bhadana and all fantastic names in our mind but we were like focused to make our vines/ channel good one as a part of our hobby. 3. How do you feel after starting a YouTube channel and how much has your life changed? Feeling is just the same. Happy Vibes are more in life now. We are grounded and wont be showing/ having EGO. Life Changer Part has not come yet but we are happily enjoying our hobby and passion of You-tubing. 4. How do you deal with fans and how does it make you feel and also how do you deal with haters or your own friends who make fun of you? We sincerely thank our fans/ anonymous audience/ known audience who appreciate us, who motivate us. We also acknowledge genuine feedback and criticism if any. We deal our haters (if any) with a great smile with no words. As action speaks louder than words. 5. So you have a vine or skits channel why this concept why not something else like tech or vlogging? As already mentioned, our Channel name is Nahi Samjhe. We shall be presenting best possible act be it be the vine, skit, performance, dance, anything. We shall try to deliver best possible through our channel 6. Tell us about your first video experience like what was the struggle? We made 4 videos before we launched our channel and later best of them was posted firstly. We were new to the field... Boys were panicked facing camera and all... But we managed as we had the zeal to drive our passion to succeed. 7. Define your channel in two words *NAHI SAMJHE* 8.Being a part of social media how do you think youth gets affected by it? See, Aajkal the best hobby in free time is to check and scroll facebook, whats app and You-tubing so it matters a lot... People do see content out there on these social media sites and try to troll, enjoy, learn out of them all. 9.Do you think youth gets overindulged in social media and tends to forget their public and personal life? I guess in present times, social media is the best way to realize your potential and youth gets to know what is right and what is wrong. 10.How YouTube is a platform for the youth, do you feel that it's sometimes misleading for the youth as they think of it as their passion and forget everything else which ultimately causes their downfall? I contradict with your words, Everything has its cons n pros... Youtube has much motivational and inspirational material. 11. Being a growing YouTuber what advice would you like to give people out there and how do you see YouTube in India in the upcoming year? Advice is not to become arrogant and egoistic when you get the fame out of YouTube. Just see your struggle days and appreciate it and try to help anyone struggling, if they approach you... It won't be your loss... 12. How did your parents react to your idea of going on YouTube and wherein future do you see yourself with this? Parents appreciated it a lot. They were happy seeing us driving our hobby. We want to see our self as every other person recognizes NAHI SAMJHE Group. Let us hope we can achieve our Goal in a year or two. 13. Are you ever nervous about posting videos? Do you feel like you have a certain standard to uphold? Does that hinder or help you as a creator? Every person has got this feeling of nervousness when he is doing something new and it is needed as well too. But we accept any criticism, failure as a learning and move ahead with lessons. 14. How do you get the idea of making these funny videos for instance the "chai" and the "gym" struggle video is so relate able so are these videos derived from your own life incidents? Since I am a CHAI LOVER and many other people are too. We are crazy for tea. So we thought people will find it really relate-able. And we tried to portray our love for chai in a funny mode. Same is with the Gym video. 15. Where do you see yourself with this in future? We are working very hard and are learning new things every day. We want us to be recognized at a national level as multi-talented Youtubers. 16. Finally one video of yours that you are most proud of? That would be our video featuring mother love. We are most proud of it because of the social message it delivered and in some or the other way it touched many hearts including ours Watch the video here
