Social Media has become a dangerous place for women but still, these social media platforms are biased and do not have many female-friendly and responsive features. Like Facebook and Instagram have still not made a feature available yet which can help females to opt for not receiving any message requests from unknown accounts. The only security measure is to thoroughly tighten your profile privacy settings though there are chances that you might still get abused.
What’s worse is that the ‘Report’ option is highly futile there, and these platforms don’t act against complaints on reports of online harassment. Twitter denied taking action on a report I made for some abusive comments on one of my tweets where I publicly expressed a political opinion that the offender with username @ashwin_srao did not like.
