Not healthcare institutions but the people were at the center of the fight in India who became adherents to the lockdown and quarantine measures imposed by the Central Government. In the transnational community, the power and effectiveness of the leadership of a nation in relative terms is measured by looking at which nation’s people have faith in their government (how many people rally around its flag) and it follows its leadership more than other nations.
For a developing country like India, imposing a nationwide lockdown, putting the entire economy under stake was not an easy decision yet the Indian Leadership took it and successfully achieved it. During this time, Indians also developed a sense of oneness and belonging. Many have suffered during the lockdown, many got laid off from their jobs, many got salary cuts and the condition and situation of the migrant laborers across the nation has been the worst but the people as well as the opposition remained sensible and continued to support the lockdown. It also offered constructive criticisms for the loopholes and also suggested measures as to how the government could help those who are suffering because of the lockdown.
Even the federal governments had been in the forefront in the fight against the Virus Spread with Central Government and in spite of having several political differences, they have strongly supported the Prime Minister and had worked together effectively showing the federal strength of India something which the U.S lacks as many of its federal states had come out to not be in support positions.
