‘Taare Zameen Par’ or ‘3 idiots’, which one explains the Indian education system better?

It does not even attribute rote learning as a feature of the education system and makes it merely a matter of choice for students which is not so. Even the film pretending to raise several social issues instead reinforces many of the stereotypes-like those who have bad knowledge of any conventional language is dumb people.

The comical antagonist Chatur does not know proper Hindi as he is a south Indian and so he deserves to get harassed by ‘Balatkar’ speech’ to show him how dumb he is. The irony is, Sonam Wangchuk was considered dumb by his teachers because he was not able to excel or understand the conventional language of learning as he was from Ladakh.

Even a sensitive issue like ‘Rape’ is used for making some B-grade jokes for comedy scenes. Was the film not meant for rape victims? Would they be able to watch this movie and bear the rape jokes? And if you lack basic empathy towards other humans that you find it cool to joke about rape, there is no use of your education, no matter even if you are a genius and a topper at your educational institution.
