Ajit Pawar gets finance portfolio in Maharashtra cabinet reshuffle
In a major cabinet reshuffle, the Eknath Shinde-led government in Maharashtra has given the important finance and planning ministry to newly inducted deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar.
Eight other NCP ministers who were sworn in on July 2 have also received their portfolios.
The cooperation department has been given to Dilip Walse Patil, agriculture to Dhananjay Munde, and women and child development to Aditi Tatkare.
Cabinet minister Anil Patil has been given the relief and rehabilitation, disaster management department.
The other NCP ministers with their allocated ministries are Hasan Mushrif (medical education), Dharmrao Atram (food and drugs administration), and Sanjay Bansode (sports).
The inclusion of 9 NCP ministers has taken the total number of cabinet ministers in Maharashtra to 29. Uncertainty over further cabinet expansion, however, still continues.
