India Builds World’s First Portable Hospital
India has built the world’s first portable hospital, a modular facility that can be airlifted and assembled in just a few hours. The hospital, known as the “Aarogya Maitri Cube”, is designed to provide critical care to up to 200 patients in the aftermath of a disaster or humanitarian crisis.
The Aarogya Maitri Cube is made up of 72 cubes, each of which contains a different piece of medical equipment or supplies. The cubes are arranged in three frames, which can be stacked together to form a complete hospital. The hospital also includes a power generator, a water purification system, and a cooking station.
The Aarogya Maitri Cube was developed by the Indian Ministry of Defence as part of Project BHISHM (Bharat Health Initiative for Sahyog Hita and Maitri). The project aims to provide essential medical supplies to friendly countries affected by natural disasters or humanitarian crises.
The Aarogya Maitri Cube is a significant milestone in the development of disaster relief technology. It is the first portable hospital that can be airlifted and assembled in a matter of hours. This makes it a valuable asset for responding to disasters in remote or inaccessible areas.
The Aarogya Maitri Cube is expected to be deployed to countries in need in the near future. It is a powerful example of India’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to its neighbors and friends.
