KGMU organized a Hands-on workshop in the field of Orthodontics
The Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopaedics, King George’s Medical University had successfully organized and conducted a Hands-on workshop on Tuesday 22/11/22 on one of the major advancements in the field of orthodontics that is “Treatment with Aligners”.
The event was organized under the able guidance of the Organising Chairman Prof. & Head Dr G.K. Singh, and The Co-Organising Chairman Prof. Dr Amit Nagar and other faculty members and residents of the department, who had welcomed & felicitated the Chief Guest Prof. Dr A.P. Tikku; Dean and Head of conservative Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences and the Guest of Honour Prof. Dr V.P. Sharma, Ex-head and Dean, Faculty of Dental Sciences, KGMU.
On this occasion, Prof. Dr G.K. Singh says that ‘Parivartan hi Prakriti ka Niyam hai’ So we should accept the changes and new innovations in the field of Orthodontics. Invisalign therapy is the new revolution in the field of Orthodontics as it reduces a lot of work for orthodontists and patient acceptance is high.
Prof. Dr V.P.Sharma Sir in his speech says that Invisalign is a new technique in Orthodontic treatment and I say it is a Wireless appliance as there is no metallic wire in this appliance and is transparent so it is near about Invisible the patient accepted it although it cost is very high.
Prof. Dr A.P.Tikku Dean faculty of Dental Sciences addressed the orthodontist and says that earlier patients comes and says that मेरे दांत टेढ़े मेढ़े हैं, हमें दांतों में वायर लगवाना है. But now in the new Invisalign technique, there is no wire ab patient kya कहेगा. He also assured KGMU faculty that sooner KGMU will purchase a 3D Scanner and printer for Dentistry. The gathering was addressed by all the dignitaries with eloquent speeches, talking about the role of aligners in the boundless field of Orthodontics.
Experts in the field of clear aligners had been invited from Delhi, who came with their scanners and other types of equipment and had put forward the various signs of progress in the field and also demonstrated the use of Scanners with a live hands-on tutorial.
The event was graced by the presence of renowned Orthodontic practitioners, Executive members of the
Indian Orthodontic Society, Members of the orthodontic study group of Lucknow(OSGOL), faculty members and Heads of various Dental Colleges Dr Arvinder Singh, Dr.Ram Autar, Dr Gyan P. Singh, Dr Alka Singh, Dr Shantanu Khatri, Dr Vijeta, Dr Sneh lata, Dr Shally Mahajan, Dr Namrata Rastogi, Dr Rana Pratap, Dr Virendra Prashad, Dr Madhvi, Dr Juhi Yadav, Dr Dipti Shastri, Dr Raja Shekhar and delegates and Resident Doctors from various dental colleges of Lucknow.
Ex. Dean and Head Prof. Pradeep Tandon could not join the event due to health problems.
Finally Organising Co-Chairman Prof.Dr.Amit Nagar elaborated on the advantages of Aligner and presented a vote of thanks to all Delegates, Chief guest, Guest of Honour, Dental Supretendent Dr Neeraj Mishra and All Heads of Department who graced the event.
