World Orthodontic Health Day; Georgian Alumni Lecture Series
Today on the eve of World Orthodontic Health Day, the Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics and the Georgian Alumni Association at the King George’s Medical University has successfully organised the Alumni Guest Lectures.
Prof. & Head Dr G. K. Singh organised the event, addressed the gathering, elaborated on the use of Laser in Orthodontics and Dentistry, and shared his experience.
The inaugural lecture of the series was delivered by Ex. Prof. Sarabjeet Singh, Vice President of the Indian Orthodontic Society. He discussed the role of lasers in Orthodontics & Dentistry and showed hundreds of his cases treated by Laser technology. He also presented the oral ulcer cases and enlarged gum cases treated by Laser.
Dr Pradeep Raghav delivered the 2nd Alumni Guest Lecture; he is Prof. and Head Department of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Subharati Dental College, Meerut. Dr Pradeep Raghav shared his knowledge on accelerated tooth movement. As commonly known, orthodontic tooth movement or treatment is a slow process and may take years to correct.
He elaborated and explained various methods to accelerate the tooth movement and save treatment time. Especially he presented some surgical procedure cases and ultrasonic machines to increase the rate of tooth movement.
The event’s Chief Guest, Hon’ble V.C. Lt.Gen.(Dr.) Bipin Puri graced the occasion and praised the department’s initiation of Alumni Guest lectures to share the knowledge and skill of our Alumni with the resident and students of the department and wished for the success of the event.
Dean Faculty of Dental Sciences Prof. R.K Singh was the Guest of Honour of the event and blessed the organising team for the success, Prof. Pradeep Tandon (Former Head), Prof. Amit Nagar, and Prof. Gyan P. Singh and Dr Dipti Shastri were also present.
Faculty from other Dental Colleges Prof.Tripti Tikku, Prof. Ram Autar, Prof. Rana Pratap, Dr Sirish, Dr Akhil Agarwal, and Dr Sonahit Agarwal also attended the Alumni Guest Lectures on Orthodontics in Prof. C.P. Govila Hall, New Dental Building, KGMU, Lucknow.
