REGULATION OF DRONES IN INDIA
This Government took a stringent turn in implementation of this policy in light of the recent incident which took place at Gatwick Airport which is the second busiest airport in Britain. The airport remained closed from December 19-21, 2018, when multiple rogue drones were seen flying over the perimeter fence. During the three days, around 1,000 flights had to be cancelled or diverted to prevent any untoward incident.
There are various questions regarding regulation and implementation in the field of drones. These questions need to be carefully addressed, keeping in mind the extant legal and moral principles and adapting them to the rapid technological advances to create an effective governance regime for UAVs in India.
