ICMR research on Covid-19 finds presence of ” bats coronavirus”
New Delhi: ICMR ( Indian Council of medical research) has been constantly researching the deadly virus COVID-19 which has already claimed more than 1,26,000 lives across the globe. The pandemic is taking a gigantic upsurge in spreading itself, so the nations are widely expanding the research on the characteristics and the origins of the virus to successfully combat the pandemic.
The only medicine right now is the lockdown itself and social distancing as the scientists are buying time to develop a potential vaccine. ICMR experts have found a different species of coronavirus ( BtCoV) in two Indian bats. There is no full-proof evidence of this virus being contagious to humans as well, said Dr. Pragya D Yadav, Scientist at National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune.
