Is the digitization of the education a mere reality in India during the Corona Outbreak ?
Is the digital divide of the Indian Education System facing an evolution for the acceptance of new technology?
The rural schools have been closed down in many states of India, the tutors are sticking to the stringent syllabus completion process through the online apps in many cases. The students are finding it more convenient to sit at the comfort of their homes and get the study sessions completed through recorded videos and webinars. Even apps like Byjus, Unacademy, zoom are coming to the rescue of both the primary and the higher education. So the debatable fact is – Is the pandemic a gateway for India to be more digitally conversant?
The truth is the poverty-stricken country like India might have families who are not well equipped with technology due to the absence of affordability rates to buy expensive laptops and devices which would help them connect to the online education facilities more. The plausibility of exploring the video tutorials of lessons through cell phones or smartphones cannot be ignored either. One in every third person in India owns a smartphone and knows how to do Facebook. If we take these statistics as a conduit to boost the coverage of digital education landscape, the prospects can be utilized as the sky is not the limit.
