Atma Nirbhar Bharat Scheme, Vocal for Local and MSMEs

On 12 May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and announced a financial stimulus package worth Rs. 20 lakh crore for constructing ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ amid the Covid-19 Pandemic, which has affected many countries. This 20 lakh crore package by the government gauges about 10 percent of India’s GDP.

One of the interesting remarks that the Prime Minister made about this relief package was that unlike other nations’ relief packages, it intends to reform the world and help other countries as well. This obviously sounds pretty ambitious. But an unfortunate global experience like Pandemic needs global cooperation and reform to vanquish it entirely.

Because in a globalized world, if a situation deteriorates in one country, it has its implications and repercussions in other countries too. China serves as a perfect example. The outbreak in China and its response towards it has upended the lives in other countries as well. And it happened because the egoistic and authoritarian Chinese government was reluctant to cooperate with other countries, it ignored all its global obligations without any consideration for other countries because of which the world suffered.
